“You can call me Wit”

I am a licensed acupuncturist and massage therapist serving the Hollywood area and its surroundings. Whether through in-home treatments or visits to my spa studio near Highland and De Longpre, I am dedicated to providing the most effective alternative treatments for pain and supporting my clients throughout their recovery process. My passion for acupuncture and Chinese medicine stems from my roots in a Thai-Chinese family in Southern Thailand, where I was raised with the Tao, a central principle of Chinese medicine, and learned to view the body holistically. In my leisure time, I rehabilitate orchids.

F.A.Q.s

How many acupuncture treatments are needed?

The number of treatments required varies based on the severity of the condition and the individual’s overall health. Factors such as constitutional strength, emotional state, living environment, diet, and physical activity level can impact the body’s resilience and affect the number of treatments needed.

What happens during an acupuncture session?

During an acupuncture session, the practitioner will assess your medical history, current symptoms, emotional state, and lifestyle habits. They will examine your pulse and trigger points on your body to create a personalized treatment plan that may involve the insertion of thin needles into specific points on the body.

What should you expect during an acupuncture treatment?

During the treatment, you will lie face up or face down on a massage table while the acupuncturist inserts needles at various acupuncture points on your limbs or trunk. To ensure a comfortable experience, it is recommended to breathe normally and avoid movement in the treated area. Many people find the experience relaxing and may even fall asleep. Some individuals may feel a tingling, warm sensation or sensations such as heaviness, heat, or cold.

How frequently should I receive acupuncture?

For acute pain, a single daily treatment may be sufficient in some cases. For chronic pain, it is common to receive treatment once or twice a week. Once symptoms have improved, it is recommended to receive maintenance acupuncture once a month.

How many acupuncture points will be used?

The number of acupuncture points used in treatment can vary depending on the individual’s condition and the practitioner’s assessment. In general, a typical acupuncture treatment may involve the use of 6-12 needles, although sometimes more or fewer needles may be used. The location of the acupuncture points selected and the number of needles used will depend on the individual’s specific health concerns and the practitioner’s diagnosis and treatment plan.

Is a follow-up acupuncture treatment necessary?

Yes, follow-up treatments are recommended after the initial visit. This is important for the holistic healing process, as the benefits of acupuncture accumulate with each treatment. The length of recovery time may vary depending on individual factors such as constitutional strength and adaptability.

What are your strategies to reduce the spread and impact of Covid19?

COVID-19 mitigation strategies on us include vaccination, masking, physical distancing, hand hygiene, ventilation, testing and tracing, and quarantine and isolation. If you experience COVID-19 symptoms, it is advised to prioritize safety by rescheduling any appointments until you feel better and are no longer contagious.

What People Say About Wit

Remarkable Recovery Assistance and Diagnostic Abilities...

I had foot surgery and Wit helped with my recovery. During a session, he found a sore spot that turned out to be related to my colon, not my foot. He advised me to see a doctor, who then referred me to a surgeon. Two weeks later, I had colon surgery. Wit’s diagnostic abilities are amazing. I still see him for my back and neck issues, and his exercises, dietary suggestions, and supplements have been helpful. Wit’s care and attention to detail are impressive.

Finding Relief: A 50-something Woman's Acupuncture Experience

A 50-something woman growing frustrated by a variety of ailments, I was nervous to try acupuncture, but a friend kept saying, “You need to call Wit!” I finally did and am happy to share that I had a great experience! He brought all he needed to my home, listened intently, had a calm and easy presence, and explained what he was doing each step of the way. He restored some of my “chi” and I felt relief and easier movement within a few hours. I am encouraged by the possibilities of what acupuncture can heal. Highly recommend.
